Why Do Social Security Disability Cases Take Forever to be Decided?
Each claim is taken very seriously and it can take several months for a disability examiner to
review medical records, forms, work history, education and other personal information of each
claimant in order to reach a fair and fully informed decision. Social Security and DDS are
underfunded, which means it takes longer than it should for them to do their job because there
are so many claims, and not enough workers.
