Sound mind: To be of sound mind means: 
1. That the testator understands the act of making a will
2. That the testator understands the nature and extent of the property included in the will
3. That the testator understands the proposed disposition of that property, and 
4. That the testator knows his or her heirs.

Succession: A term used to describe transfers of asset ownership through inheritance, gifting, preferential sale, or other means that fulfill the wishes of the person with present ownership of the assets.
